BROTHER FIRETRIBE – Diamond in the Firepit

BROTHER FIRETRIBE – Diamond in the Firepit

Melodic rock requires to possess one non-negotiable trait – it must be insanely catchy through and through. The problem, therefore, dwells in recognition of the opposite. When Death’s "Leprosy" sounds catchier than the melodic rock album, you know something’s amiss.

This album suffers from chronic uncatchiness. Every track, with the exception of one, "Desperately", had me looking longingly at the skip button and eventually succumbing to that temptation. It’s not that this is a lazy record, far from it. I think it is too ambitious, too sprawled, BF trying to cover too much ground lyrically and musically. They can write some good romantic lyrics like "Desperately"’s "the stars in the night look back at me with your eyes", but the album is just so scattered, that a 3 out of 6 should be generous enough.
