WHERE ANGELS FALL – Redemption

WHERE ANGELS FALL – Redemption

  • Rating: 4.5 / 6

Where Angels Fall is a Norwegian quartet with symphonic/ industrial elements added to a basic groove/ gothic metal template.  "Redemption" is their third full length album, a 10 song sojourn into forceful electro-oriented industrial rhythms, angelic female vocals, and guitars careening in and out to make material like "Mothmother" and tension-filled "Victim" very intriguing in a dark, Tristania meets Theatre of Tragedy way.

The sultry melodic tapestry Eirin Bendigsten weaves around the riffs of André Bendigsten makes material like the mechanized "Words Unspoken" and slower, moodier ballad "Earth Visited" enchanting, inviting, and worth repetitive airings. Personally I prefer natural drums, but the programming doesn’t hurt the arrangements or songwriting- so seek out Where Angels Fall if you want a little darkness in your gothic metal.
