SLOUGH FEG – Digital Resistance

Nine albums in but Slough Feg don’t seem to have moved on much in recent years. ‘Digital Resistance’ doesn’t really provide much in the way of stylistic advancement or any change in the way the songs are put together. The epic Thin Lizzy vibe is the same as ever, but this time around it feels a little as if the guys are just going through the paces. So the sound is the same as ever but the songs lack the frisson of excitement I had when I heard albums like ‘Hardworlder.’ This means that even though there are plenty of good moments, I can’t help feeling subtly disappointed with this one.
