LACRIMAS PROFUNDERE – Antiadore
20 years of gothic rock/ metal with the German quartet Lacrimas Profundere. It’s hard to believe that out of all those years, "Antiadore" will be my first excursion into their craft- but in such a short life we lead, it’s impossible to hear everything I desire to hear. The 12 songs within this album possess a fun, charging nature, embodying the art of pop oriented gothic rock/ metal- the type those into HIM, The 69 Eyes, even Billy Idol in certain parts on "Abandon" will enjoy.
The interplay between Rob Vitacca sultry vocals and guitarists Oliver Nikolas Schmid and Tony Berger carries tracks like the restrained ballad "Head Held High" and modern stomp nature for "What I’m Not"- proving the band’s wide array of emotional expressions within the genre. Those who like the alternative, melodic framework to these songs will find plenty to love about Lacrimas Profundere.
