Classic 80’s melodic rock superstar Richard Marx returns with a collection of new songs and re-recordings of his older material exclusively for the European market. Of the 13 fresh songs on “Inside My Head”, most are similar to his self-titled and “Repeat Offender” album days- a mix of catchy mid-tempo rockers and diverse ballad offerings that prove he can still write smooth songs and has all of his vocal range intact. Ones that stuck out to my ears include the Lenny Kravitz bluesy-guitar oriented “Scars”, fairy tale-ish “Like Heaven” and closing cruise worthy “Part Of Me”.
Not for the metal sect, perfect for the 30 and up generation who loved this man’s catchy melodic pop /rock ways.
