UNDEAD CREEP – The Ever-Burning Torch

UNDEAD CREEP – The Ever-Burning Torch

If you ever needed proof that you don’t have to be Swedish to play Swedish Death Metal, here it is! “The Ever-Burning Torch” sounds like it was recorded in Sunlight Studios in 1991 (think “ Left Hand Path” and you won’t be too far off), even though it was released this year and Undead Creep hail from Sicily.

To be fair, the band have their chops and make a very good breast of things, but it all comes down to whether this particular type of DM still holds any interest for you. Personally, I loved it at the time, but that was 20 years ago. These days I prefer to listen to Nader Sadek and my re-mastered Death collection! If you do still feel the need to listen to this type of thing, Swedish act Evocation (these guys were actually a part of the early DM scene in their home country) released “Apocalyptic” in 2010, which is a much better modern take on Swedish DM.
