Third album from this Irish quartet who come from a classic rock meets southern jam perspective on “Revival”. Recording the album in El Paso and Austin, Texas, songs like “Trouble” and “Tornado” have this Led Zeppelin meets the Black Crowes in a dark alley spirit, firm on the blues and deep with this vocal charisma that sweeps you away instantly. Spices from female vocals to organs to harmonicas showcase a young quartet who’ve comfortably ascended the ranks from opening for AC/DC on a two year globe stint to headlining status. “(Vida) I Want You” lifts my air guitar arms as Paul Mahon’s solo seers with Lynyrd Skynyrd licks and emotive appeal.
12 songs and 50 minutes which serve notice that good time rock that pays homage to the masters can still have creative twists – and these musicians deliver in spades.
