London’s End Of Level Boss throw down a punk laced stoner rock sound with a modicum progressive element on this third full length. Vocally in the Chris Cornell camp, musically songs like “Senescence” and “This Is Not The Way It Was” pour out Voi Vod insane rhythms against a Kyuss-like guitar backdrop. Factor in a bass player who certainly knows his King Crimson and you understand this is not for the three-chord, four to the floor groove segment. Feel the feedback – embrace the open snare – live for the sonic juxtaposition.
Angst when driven in the appropriate direction is a beautiful, pulse propelling skill set. End Of Level Boss won’t return you in the same shape, as they rock and mesmerize into the best alternative experience.
