A female Mexican vocalist and five male Dutch musicians form a potent gothic metal act on their third full length “Darker Days”. Marcela Bovia certainly has much in common with current Nightwish vocalist Anette Olzon on songs like the power ballad “Our Cause” and happier, up tempo “This Moment”. I suppose if you like the safe, secure sound of conventional gothic metal, the addition of occasional Spanish rhythms and lyrics will not vary your opinion of Stream Of Passion.
For me – it’s not exciting enough to measure more than a casual ear, I’d rather listen to their mentors Nightwish or even older Anneke-led The Gathering than “Darker Days” again.
