Danish death metal rolls forward with this sixth album from Panzerchrist. Nothing subtle here, the five piece blast and assault from blitzing guitar maneuvers, deep rough growls and an insane hyperkinetic drummer who must lose water weight with every recording. The slower moments on “Metal Tribes” recall Slayer, otherwise material like “Prevail”, “The Armour Of Armageddon” and “King Tiger” comes from the old God Dethroned/Vomitory school of 90% furious abandon and 10% mid-tempo breather riffs.
Good for a surge of adrenaline, one wonders though the long term sustenance of such a band in comparison to death acts who mix up the arrangements and tempos a little bit more.
