Second album from Sweden’s Coldspell, "Out From The Cold" contains everything conventional hard rock fans of today’s scene desire. A strong, versatile vocalist in Niklas Swedentorp, riffs and solos that focus on easy to ingest hooks out of Michael Larsson and this overall sense of pumping out material that could fit just as well in the Europe / Letter X category as much as the Sunset Strip scene. If you can accept the fact that main parts of songs liberally mirror well known tracks (Ratt’s “Lay It Down” lick featured prominently in their “One In A Million” song) then I think this could be an addictive 12 track record in line with Treat or The Poodles.
