California trio featuring Don Cromwell on bass and keyboards, Tommy Girwim on guitar and vocals, and Rock Hampton on drums. The first two musicians previous spent years playing with Eddie Money and Air Supply among others. "Better Days" is an 11 song excursion into soft classic rock with a late 70’s meets early 80’s influence. The Eagles and Fleetwood Mac come to mind on songs like “Learn To Be Alone”, “Calm Before The Storm” and the title track.
For me the songs don’t grab me with enough hooks compared to most contemporary acts peddling melodic/ classic rock. Tommy’s Bryan Adams-like breathy vocal delivery and his emotive guitar play keep Ransom into a ‘wait and see’ mode for the future.
