Another entry in the melodic hard rock genre, Sweden’s Hardcore Circus have larger than life vocal harmonies and smooth, street-like musical hooks you would expect more from LA bands. Jorgen Bolmstad performs double duty on rhythm guitar and vocals, his voice oozing with bluesy charm like a smoother cross between Dave Meniketti and older Don Dokken. Songs like “Under My Skin” and “Life” have the heart of Zeppelin against the spirit of youthful Motley Crue rebellion at hand.
Decent debut, brilliant fluid solo work from Carl-Johan Grimmark and tight songwriting makes "Wake Up Call" a perfect party starter record.
