VORNOFF – The “Alsdybet II” EP is out now!

The now-defunct purveyors of dark, lo-fi ambient soundscapes coated with relentless misery have unearthed yet another ugly gem from the past, namely the 19-minute opus titled Alsdybet II, which is essentially a composite suite incorporating old parts (and even older ideas) dating back to the early 2000s.

With an emotional, evolving atmosphere, the track is a multilayered offering where fragments of meanings and memories collide. In the words of Vornoff main man J.N., “While the song basically expresses an individual’s troubled relationship with the world, it also serves as a homage of sorts to my formative years and the first few (and rather naïve!) attempts of mine at creating music. My musical, literary, and cinematic influences were all over the place back then and it was fucking wonderful. There was just so much to explore and absorb – and there still is, mind you. Also, the title of the piece is a home-made metaphor for navigating treacherous waters, and it can be interpreted in different ways and is purposefully ambiguous. To me, it ties in with anxiety of being and redemption.”
