Brit hard-hitters RULED BY RAPTORS will release their explosive mini-album, A Shadow That Never Moves, on Friday 2nd October. Marking a clear evolution in their sound, the record pushes their blend of progressive elements, high-octane riffs, and melodic vocals into heavier, more expansive territory. Formed in 2019, the band – Chris Bradley (vocals/guitar), Matt Dewar (guitar/vocals), Nick Oliver (bass/vocals), and Will Robson (drums), have built a reputation for intense, tightly executed live performances and a growing presence across the UK rock and metal scene. Their rise has included appearances at Slam Dunk Festival and Bloodstock Festival, alongside support slots, radio play on Kerrang! Radio and BBC Introducing, and coverage in key UK music outlets.
Sleep Dep. sets the tone for the new release, capturing the band’s heavier, more emotionally charged direction. Chris Bradley explains: “We planned to quickly follow Silent Sound, but it expanded to eight songs when we recorded with Sam Cook in December 2023. Delays, including family illness, meant we paused before returning with Matt mixing and Bob Cooper mastering. We pushed the sound further in every direction, aiming to stay true to ourselves without limiting where we can go.”
With A Shadow That Never Moves and Sleep Dep., RULED BY RAPTORS continue to establish themselves as one of the UK’s most formidable emerging acts.
