15 Years of Devastation:
Gutrectomy Returns to Primal Roots with Massive New EP “Slamdown is not a phase, Mom”, releasing on May 29th, 2026.
After a decade and a half of carving a bloody path through the underground extreme metal scene, German slam juggernauts Gutrectomy are flaying away the dead flesh to deliver their heaviest auditory beatdown to date. Arriving on May 29th, 2026, their highly anticipated new EP, Slamdown is not a phase, Mom, is not just a release—it is a declaration of war
Gutrectomy, hailing from the dark depths of the Black Forest in Germany, was forged in the crucible of brutality back in 2011. Their music is a relentless amalgamation of Slam Death Metal, Deathcore, and Beatdown/Hardcore, a unique fusion that sets them apart in the metal scene. This uncompromising sound has earned them a dedicated global fanbase, commanding over 14.000 followers on Instagram, 35.000 on Facebook and currently drawing roughly 60.000 monthly listeners on Spotify, with previous peaks reaching a massive 100.000.
Slamdown is not a phase, Mom
Release on May 29th, 2026 (independent, digital distribution via Arson Theory)

Marking the band’s monumental 15-year anniversary, Gutrectomy faced a crucial crossroads: where to go after pushing their sound to be more deathcorish on albums like Manifestation of Human Suffering and 2025’s ANGST? The answer was simple, yet utterly devastating. They decided to look back in order to step up, returning to the absolute core of their existence.
Slamdown is not a phase, Mom is a monstrous homage to the origins of True Slam. It is Gutrectomy at their most unfiltered, unapologetic, and brutally honest. Dispensing with traditional song structures and abandoning written lyrics entirely, the band has opted for a purely visceral experience. The vocals have been reduced to their most primal form: sheer, guttural violence that acts as an additional rhythm instrument rather than a vehicle for words. There is no message here, no philosophical undertones—just real, unadulterated brutality.
Gutrectomy has boiled their 15 years of experience down to a thick, toxic sludge of slam. It’s bigger, heavier, and meaner than anything they’ve done before. The slamdown is imminent, and as the title perfectly captures: it is definitely not a phase.

EuropeTour 2026 with Immortal Disfigurement
For European fans, this is the first chance to experience Gutrectomy’s “back to the roots” auditory beatdown in the flesh. The signature concussive grooves and guttural violence will serve as the perfect catalyst for the night, leaving stages decimated and crowds primed for Immortal Disfigurement’s symphonic onslaught.

Gutrectology – Freiburg Corefest
In May 2025, the band organized its first own festival, “Gutrectology – Freiburg Corefest,” held at ArTik in Freiburg im Breisgau. The sold-out event attracted over 300 attendees and featured eleven bands from various metal and core subgenres. Due to this overwhelming success, the festival is set to return in 2026 for its highly anticipated second edition, promising another heavy lineup and an unforgettable experience for the local scene.
Gutrectomy biography
Gutrectomy was founded in 2011 in Lörrach by Philip Dahlenburg (guitar) and Yannick Schuler (drums). The original lineup was completed by Dennis Schuler on vocals and Daniel Mahler on bass. In 2018, Louis Weber joined the band as bassist, replacing Daniel Mahler. In 2020, Simon Wernert took over drumming duties from Yannick Schuler, before being replaced by Julien Kuny in 2023.
The band released its debut EP Slamageddon in 2014 via Rotten Roll Rex. This was followed in 2017 by their first full-length studio album Slampocalypse, released through Amputated Vein Records. After the independently released single Filius Mulieris Meretricis in 2019, Gutrectomy issued the EP Slaughter the Innocent in 2020 via Rising Nemesis Records.
The band’s second studio album, Manifestation of Human Suffering, was released in 2022 through Amputated Vein Records. This was followed by their third full-length album, ANGST, in 2025 via Reality Fade.
To kick off the following year, the band dropped the single I Am Endless on January 30, 2026. Building on that momentum, Gutrectomy is scheduled to release their brand-new EP, Slamdown is not a phase, Mom, in May 2026.
Gutrectomy has performed at numerous well-known European metal festivals, including Summer Breeze Open Air (2022), Party.San Metal Open Air (2018), and Deathfeast Open Air (2014, 2018, 2023, 2026). The band has also completed multiple European headline tours, including tours alongside Mental Cruelty and No Face No Case and will tour through Europe again in 2026 supporting Immortal Disfigurement.
