Skjenk brings a thrilling fusion of rock, punk and boogie, serving as the ultimate soundtrack for your
Friday night indulgence. Skjenk hits hard with howling Hammond organs and infectious guitar riffs,
topped with rasped, shouty vocals that nod to legends like Deep Purple, Chuck Berry, The Hellacopters,
and Lucero. Their lyrics carry pure rock grit: no gloss, no mercy, just life turned up loud.
Since their formation in 2022, Skjenk has devoted their energy to writing and recording their debut
album while taking the stage for select live shows in their hometown of Bergen, Norway. Comprised of
seasoned musicians from bands like Istaarn, Bon Scotch, and Blodhemn, they have recently wrapped up production on their first album, titled “The Thirst Amendment.”
Don’t Peak Too Early:
With “Don’t Peak Too Early”, Skjenk serves up a solid blast of riff-driven rock ’n’ roll – sweaty, playful, and instantly catchy. The track barrels forward with a heavy boogie feel, driving guitars, and a piano that forces your foot to start tapping. This is straight-up party energy, delivered as a raw and unfiltered rock song.
The lyrics revolve around a situation we all know too well: getting way too hyped while waiting for the guests to arrive and the party to start. The nerves are buzzing. The body won’t settle down. That first beer, meant to take the edge off – until one turns into two, three… and suddenly you’re already hours ahead by the time the party actually kicks off. “Don’t Peak Too Early” captures that exact moment with humor, energy, and a generous dose of self-irony.
With its uncompromising drive and a chorus hook that sticks after the very first listen, “Don’t Peak Too Early” is made to raise your pulse, heighten the anticipation, and set the party in motion – maybe long before the doors even open…
