Based in Columbus, Ohio, NØKK was birthed in January of 2021.
Shortly after the demise of the the promising Black/Death unit Eternal Bloodshed, guitarist and song-writer J. Gallagher, along with drummer S. Pletcher, decided to continue working together to explore a more organic, atmospheric style. After a few meetings, R. Hames joined the fold on vocals. The focus since forming in 2021 has been writing with a goal of having a full length released before moving into live activity.
NØKK started as a 3-piece and are currently a 2-piece with a full live line-up ready to go once the album has been released. NØKK’s debut ep, Repel The Incursion, was released digitally on August 24, 2023.
Now, nearly two years later, the band has completed work on their first full-length album, tentatively titled ‘Heartless’. Containing 6 tracks and more than 40 minutes of new music, the band is looking forward to the next step of their journey. Featuring current and ex-members of Canis Dirus, Darkmoon, Eternal Bloodshed and others, NØKK aims to create music that draws from a wide range of influences and inspirations, musical and otherwise, that they would want to hear themselves.
