With heavy riffs and atmospheric melody, Horror Movies In The Morning have captured a unique sound, one which will harness your attention from the moment you hit play. After a rewarding response to their debut self-titled album, they have returned with a hard-hitting new single titled ‘Better Gone’, a track about abandoning past traumas you are better off without.
“We mixed energetic riffs with atmospheric melodies to create something new for fans. We wanted a wall of sound to hit the listener as soon as that kick hits. ‘Better Gone’ is a track that can be listened to by fans of any genre, not just rock.
Musically it came together very organically. Chels (Chelcey) had written a song and brought it to Hammy (Andrew) and then they worked on it together before presenting it to the rest of the band. The hook was written a long time ago by Hammy but we had never found the right place to put it in until writing ‘Better Gone.’”
Digging further into the meaning behind ‘Better Gone’ vocalist Nic Stevens describes how it is about “someone who is depressed, that’s wandering through life with some sort of entity following them around, that they just can’t get rid of, whether that be anxiety, depression etc.”
