Introduce your band, and describe your latest release:
We are The Noble Front, a hard rock band from the west coast of Ireland. Our latest release is a 9-track, debut album which came out on January 4.
What’s the hardest part about being a band in this day and age?
Getting your music to potential fans ears. The industry is incredibly saturated, which is amazing for music fans but very difficult to grow and spread your music.
When did you realise that your project had the potential to be much more than just a fun idea?
There had been riffs and the bones of songs going around for years (one riff was written when I was 15!). The decision was made to create an LP/record to get the monkey off the back in the beginning. As the songs took real shape, it was apparent that it was going to be a bit more serious than tha. It has turned out much better than we could ever have hoped.
Tell us about your latest release, why should we check it out?
The songs are raw and truthful. They were written and recorded with one thing in mind; to express ourselves fully and honestly. Never once was it an aim to make it commercially viable!! The songs are balls-out, angry, frustrated and introspective accounts of who the band is and what it stands for.
How does a song typically come together for you?
I write when I’m inspired. I find listening to new music inspires me, among other things. It can be any genre, actually, so long as it motivates me to create. Then, once I’m in that “zone”, I tend to begin by messing around loosely with riffs on the guitar. When I happen upon something that may have potential, I build around it as best I can (verse, bridge, chorus, drums, vox etc.). The hardest point is at the end of this process, when there’s the bones of a song that simply will not make the cut and has to get the chop. I find it difficult to cut songs and tend to get sentimental quickly!
How would you describe your sound to an unfamiliar reader?
Mostly distorted guitars and punchy, pounding drums and bass. But there are tracks and moments of reflection on the record also. Calm within the storm. And the feedback about these tracks, especially Tired & Down, has been amazing.
What do you want listeners to take away from listening to your band?
That they can feel the music for one, that they enjoy the songs and grooves. After that, that they can relate to the tracks, the frustrations, the lyrics, the honesty.
Where would you really like to tour that you haven’t done so yet, and why?
Japan. I don’t really know why, it’s just a really different place and fans there seem obsessed!
How would you say that the sound of your band has progressed over the years?
This is a new venture for us. We are enjoying where we are at the minute and are hungry to play shows and tour. We are also hungry to write new tracks later in the year, so who knows what our tracks will sound like then!
How excited are you for 2024, and what can fans expect from you?
Play shows, tour during the summer, grow and expand and enjoy what we are doing with our friends and fans and families. Hopefully more music later in the year also.
