They’re at the beginning of an interesting journey and below it’s a quick interview to discover more about their interesting sound and inspiration
Introduce your band, and describe your latest release:
Anchor The Storm is a metal band based out of Orlando, Florida that formed during quarantine in 2020. We’ve released four singles since we‘ve started this band with many more in the works. Our latest release is titled Unleashed. It can be streamed on all platforms and has a video on youtube. Check it out! linktr.ee/anchorthestorm
What’s the hardest part about being a band in this day and age?
By far, the hardest part of being in a band in 2022 is not knowing what the industry will look like in 6 months. It changes so fast! We have to make the best music we can and share it the best we can despite the constantly moving goal posts.
When did you realise that your project had the potential to be much more than just a fun idea?
Os: I knew it was special when it attracted such high level musicians to participate. There’s some great musicians that have signed on to join the trip with Anchor. It’s an honor.
Tell us about your latest release, why should we check it out?
Unleashed is about self discovery. It’s got some brutal riffs, great clean sections, soaring melodies, hooks to sing with, and two solos that wrap it up and leave you waiting to see what we will do next.
How does a song typically come together for you?
We send each other ideas and record on layers until we get together and jam the parts together. This method lets us have a process that works with our schedules and keeps many songs in the vault waiting for release.
How would you describe your sound to an unfamiliar reader?
Progressive Alternative Metal with a splash of Jazz for good measure.
What do you want listeners to take away from listening to your band?
We want our listeners to take from us a sense of belonging. We may not be writing music for everyone, but the people that love it are all we need. We’re here for them.
Where would you really like to tour that you haven’t done so yet, and why?
It would be amazing to tour in South America. The food is great and the audiences are eager to hear heavy music. It’s on the bucket list.
How would you say that the sound of your band has progressed over the years?
We’re writing now more with the intent of putting on a powerful live show. When we started in quarantine, we weren’t sure were going to play out live. Now that we have, we’re not stopping. The setlist will evolve to reflect this. More chugs and energy incoming!
How excited are you for 2023, and what can fans expect from you?
More music, more shows, more videos, more content. We’re going to keep pushing on.
