ADRENALINE RUSH – Soul Survivor

The Swedish outfit named Adrenaline Rush recently released this great slab of kick-ass hard rock entitled "Soul Survivor", which consists of 12 tracks with an awful lot of drive and energy to them. The 2014 debut album showed a lot of potential and this time around the song material has more depth, substance, and grit to it.

The production is simply astronomical, which is to say that the sound that emanates from my speakers whenever I spin this record is thick and crisp. Adrenaline Rush knows exactly how to entertain and engage the listener by means of crunchy riffs, tasteful solos, thunderous bass lines, and passionate vocals. Most of the songs have a nice groove to them as well as variety. The running order of the album is also well-thought out in that we go from bombastic compositions full of face-melting riffs to slightly mellower tunes and then further on to great melodic tracks that are more classic rock-like than hard-assed hard rock, if that makes sense. The lyrics are pretty decent too and the album as a whole has an uplifting vibe to it. Not every song is a killer, however. The occasional filler track rears its ugly head from time to time, but in the overall perspective this is a really cool album and cuts such as "Crash", "Don’t Wake Me Up", "Wild Side", "Shock Me", and the opening track "Adrenaline" are fucking wicked and more than enough reason for you to check this album out.

"Soul Survivor" is fiery hard rock with some great melodies and excellent hooks to it. Look no further than this if you need a proper kick up the arse!
