Originally hitting the streets in demo form during 2004 following vocalist Martin Walkyier’s departure from Skyclad and bassist/ rhythm guitarist Iscariah’s exit from Immortal, "In the Big Ending" would be The Clan Destined’s sole release. Hammerheart Records saw fit to issue it in its entirety, a 6 song EP that has a heavier slant than Martin’s folky Skyclad work musically, while still keeping his distinct pun-oriented word style intact. Searing leads in "T.C. Lethbridge", spoken word elements throughout, this is a mix of modern heavy metal that is decent but not outstanding. Keyboard hooks permeate "Devil for a Day", while "Swinging Like Judas" has the best hope for appeal, it’s main riff hooks in line with Judas Priest or Primal Fear.
Probably one for the ardent Walkyier collectors, if little else.
