BULLDOZER – Unexpected Fate

Italian old school thrash with a re-release of their 2009 reunion studio album. Sweetening the deal with 4 live tracks (including “Ninth Circle Of Hell / Desert” from their 1987 record), you get a band who go for the throat in their approach. No ballads, very few clean breaks, just full force thrash with speed and slightly blackened tendencies. Songs like “Use Your Brain”, “Buried Alive By Trash” and the opening title cut morph the velocity of old Venom and Kreator with the technical riff rage of Pestilence.
I can hear why some may lick their chops at this technique, but very little grabbed my attention in terms of hooks or even memorable songwriting – and the vocals leave a lot to be desired in their monotone mannerisms. All the ants aren’t marching in the right Bulldozer formation – better luck next time guys.
