It’s not enough with distorted guitars and a vocal that is run through the effectbox in order to create a necessary kind of evil. It simply doesn’t sound true, but more like an attempt to make black metal that doesn’t sound too much like something else. Haeiresis actually succeed, which doesn’t mean the album is a blast. In fact, the songs go nowhere and the whole thing sounds too cheap, despite the interesting choice of melodies here and there, such as in the bumblebee-ish "Emptyroom". And those drums? If they are real, they really sound bad. And if they’re machine made, they definitely weakens the product. A different choice of vocal and different drums, and Haeiresis would’ve been onto something.
