More rock ready for Roskilde

Killswitch Engage, Circle og Japandroids are added to the programme.
Last week saw plenty of hard rock, and this week's spade barometer is up there as well. Today, Roskilde Festival presents three different names, all of which hover about hard rock, metal and noisy guitars.
KILLSWITCH ENGAGE (US) mixes metal, emo and classic rock in a style that constantly gets new fans to throw themselves at their feet. Their catchy choruses, grinding hardcore sequences and 80s-style guitar work appeal to everybody who likes metal in the tradition of Metallica and Anthrax. Killswitch Engage is metalcore to the masses and one of the key names and trendsetters of the genre.
CIRCLE (FIN) has released a whole deluge of albums since 1991 which not only draw on 70s-style hard rock, but also kraut rock, doom, ambient and countless other genres. Their so-called ‘New Wave of Finnish Heavy Metal' is a well-kept secret until now – but who knows for how long.
JAPANDROIDS (CAN) play effective garage pop and have – despite their Spartan approach with guitar, drums and vocals – received lots of attention because of the bittersweet, noised-drowned pop album Post-Nothing. The two lads write effective songs that instantly catch many listeners with their basic energy and rich melodies.
More next week
Most people in Roskilde are on their winter holiday, but Roskilde Festival is working hard on getting more acts ready for next week.
