Introduce your band, and describe your latest release:
Red Giant are a heavy, grungy, blues band from the midland of the UK.
We tend to play music that talks about the darker side of life that we all face at one time or another and that in tern gives us a very distinctive darker sound.
Our latest single is a song called ‘Overcome’. It was actually the first song I ever wrote and it’s great that it’s finally found a home.
The song is quite dark in its sound and message but does end on a lighter note and has a very uplifting guitar solo.
What’s the hardest part about being a band in this day and age?
The fact that so many things are hidden behind pay walls and oversaturation. Theres so many bands fighting to be heard right now and sadly that doesn’t lead to a community. It leads to conflict among bands and everyone is out for themselves.
When did you realise that your project had the potential to be much more than just a fun idea?
When we started working on our first album. We knew we had something good.
Tell us about your latest release, why should we check it out?
Our latest release is a song called ‘Overcome’ and you should check it out because it’s a song that speaks about something we have all faced at some point in our lives.
How does a song typically come together for you?
Normally I write a song and record a demo of it. I then take it to the band and we then rip it apart and put it back together.
How would you describe your sound to an unfamiliar reader?
Very much like the grunge bands from the 90s. Quite eclectic in its mix of genres, but they all blend seamlessly.
What do you want listeners to take away from listening to your band?
More than anything, a sense of hope and a feeling that they are not and never will be alone.
Where would you really like to tour that you haven’t done so yet, and why?
We would love to tour Europe and the reason we haven’t is simply we cannot afford to do so. It’s so expensive tour in this day and age.
How would you say that the sound of your band has progressed over the years?
Its matured a lot. We have leant a lot from playing together.
How excited are you for 2025, and what can fans expect from you?
Very. We will hopefully have a new album coming out and a uk tour.
