BRIT PROGRESSIVE CREW RELEASE NEW SINGLE & ANNOUNCE BRAND NEW ALBUM
UK progressive rock outfit, THE TIRITH, return with a powerful new chapter, reaffirming their place in the modern prog scene. Their new single, Save The Oak, is out now. Watch the video:
Look out for the band’s new album, Quetzalcoatl, out Friday 3rd July.
Blending classic progressive rock sensibilities with a contemporary edge, Quetzalcoatl finds THE TIRITH at their most cohesive and adventurous. Expansive arrangements, shifting dynamics, and intricate musicianship define the record, with influences ranging from folk and jazz to heavier rock woven into a distinct prog sound.
THE TIRITH’s origins date back to the 1970s, when founding members Tim Cox and Dick Cory first wrote and performed together as schoolmates in an early band, Minas Tirith. After a hiatus of more than three decades, they reunited in 2010 with a wealth of experience and unreleased material. During that time, Tim Cox established himself as a professional musician and songwriter, notably producing and co-writing Rozalla’s iconic hit ‘Everybody’s Free (To Feel Good).’ Meanwhile, Dick Cory continued to write extensively, with many of those songs shaping THE TIRITH’s later work.

Since reforming, the band have released three albums: Tales from the Tower (2015), A Leap into the Dark (2019), and Return of the Lydia (2022), all noted for their conceptual scope and expressive guitar work.
Now featuring a settled line-up, including drummer Paul Williams and keyboardist Anthony Hill, THE TIRITH have developed a tighter, more unified sound rooted in atmosphere, technicality, and storytelling. A respected live act on the UK prog circuit, the band have appeared at festivals including Cambridge Rock Festival and HRH Prog, sharing stages with Focus, Karnataka, and Gnidrolog.
With Quetzalcoatl, THE TIRITH deliver a confident and engrossing progressive rock album, rich in scope, detail, and ambition while staying true to the spirit that first defined them.
