Skjenk releases “Have It As You May” the second single from upcoming album “The Thirst Amendment”
With “Have It As You May” Skjenk reveals another side of themselves. The track slows the tempo and opens up a more floating, melody-driven expression with atmospheric passages. At the same time, it nods to both classic hard rock riffing from bands like AC/DC and the modern energy of Foo Fighters, giving the song a well-balanced blend of melody and power. The result is a track that flows effortlessly, yet never loses the edge and drive of rock.
The song serves as a clear contrast to the rest of the album — not only musically, but lyrically as well. While the remaining tracks are often characterized by partying, humor, and chaos, this one takes a step back and reflects on the aftermath of heavy partying: emptiness, anxiety, and the quiet unease that follows when the lights dim and the music fades. The lyrics explore vulnerable moments of reflection, adding depth and contrast to the album, while the drifting musical themes reinforce the introspective mood.

Skjenk brings a thrilling fusion of rock, punk and boogie, serving as the ultimate soundtrack for your Friday night indulgence. Skjenk hits hard with howling Hammond organs and infectious guitar riffs, topped with rasped, shouty vocals that nod to legends like Deep Purple, Chuck Berry, The Hellacopters, and Lucero. Their lyrics carry pure rock grit: no gloss, no mercy, just life turned up loud. Since their formation in 2022, Skjenk has devoted their energy to writing and recording their debut album while taking the stage for select live shows in their hometown of Bergen, Norway. Comprised of seasoned musicians from bands like Istaarn, Bon Scotch, and Blodhemn, they have recently wrapped up production on their first album, titled “The Thirst Amendment.”
