“Our album ‘Wounds’ is a mix of new and old songs where we picked the best we had. We sat down and figured out what our sound was and stripped it to the bone. After that, we reworked the songs, since the old songs are significantly different now than when we first wrote them, so the songs on this album are the best possible versions of what each song could be.

We aimed for a raw sound that could be a direct reflection of our live sound, but also capture the aggressiveness of our songs. We wanted to find a controlled chaos. We teamed up with Jacob Bredahl (Dead Rat Studio) as the album’s producer, Jack Shirley (Atomic Garden), who mixed and mastered the album, and consulted with Arthur Rizk about how to achieve the right sound.

We are incredibly excited to release the album because we feel it’s the best reflection of the band — and what you hear is also what you get live. The album is All gas no brakes”

Wounds is a fast-paced, uncompromising album that reflects the band’s aggression toward the situation young people face today — the expectations the world has of them, the grim future of climate change, war, etc., as foretold in the media. But also down to something as simple as not feeling okay sometimes. That aggression and frustration, once only seen live, has now been captured on record.

Formed in 2018 in Randers, Denmark, SWARTZHEIM consists of Jeppe Halse Fugleberg (vocals), Joe Thinggaard Timmins (guitar), Niels (Napalm) Kasule (guitar), Ebbe Hyldahl Rask (bass), and Sebastian Vestergaard (drums).

Despite not having released a debut album yet, the band has managed to play at festivals such as Wacken Open Air (2024) and Copenhell (2025). This is due to the raw and frantic live energy the band brings.

The relatively young crossover metal band has already headlined independent concerts abroad and played at smaller festivals in countries including Norway, Sweden, and Germany. In addition, they’ve become a recognized name in Denmark’s underground metal scene, having played at the SPOT festival twice, the Copenhell Metal Cruise, and opened for bands like Terror and Power Trip.

Now, after a lot of hard work, the band is ready to release their debut album. A team has also been assembled, including a manager, booking agents, a promotion agency, and a distributor for the album.
