THUNDER – Live at Islington Academy

The fabulous British rockers Thunder have unearthed a cracking good and highly energetic live recording dating back to late December of 2006 when they played a surprise gig at the Planet Rock Christmas party, which took place at the Islington Academy in London as the title of the release aptly suggests.

The resulting album is brimming with warmth and raw power, and you can actually feel the excitement and smell the sweat in the room when cranking this classic rock beauty up loud. The intimate atmosphere of the show and the synergy between the band and audience are palpable throughout, and the spirited audio document carries loads of punch and serves up some of Thunder’s most cherished and loved tunes as well as a couple of fist-pumping delights from the superb Robert Johnson’s Tombstone (2006).

Glorious rock ‘n’ roll entertainment with a lively mix and a great selection of songs awaits, and the band sound like they are having the time of their lives on the disc.
