H.E.A.T – Freedom Rock (2023 Remix)

Yes, this is just what the good hard rock doctor ordered for a dismal day at work – a brand-new and sparkling remix of the excellent Freedom Rock, i.e., the second full-length LP by Swedish legends H.E.A.T, which originally came out in 2010.  

It should come as no surprise that the record is jampacked and overflowing with fist-pumping melodies and gloriously big riffs that could tear a house down, and although better and more stirring outputs by the group would follow in the years to come, its content is so expertly written, delightfully confident, and incredibly well-played that you could be forgiven for thinking that these guys had heaps of experience when recording it. Anyway, what makes this remix so cool is the fact that it carries more punch and power than the original version did, especially in terms of the rhythm section, and that it includes two infectious bonus tracks, namely ‘Tonight’ and ‘Living in a Memory’. One cannot argue with the fact that songs such as ‘Black Night’, ‘Nobody Loves You (Like I Do)’, and the raunchy ‘High on You’ are a pure joy to listen to and that they sound better and sharper than ever now thanks to this well-balanced remix. Regardless of whether you are a die-hard fan or new to the band this album should come in handy and provide you with thrills and a proper adrenaline kick. Energetic hard rock from one of Sweden’s finest.
