Melodic Waves: Brutal Assault 2023 adds IN FLAMES to the line-up!

The third, this time conceptual band update for Brutal #26 is tagged as “melodic waves” and features one of the festival’s headliners.

That is Swedish icon IN FLAMES, who mix the greatest strengths of their groundbreaking albums with the seasoned songwriting of their postmodern era on their new album „Foregone“.

The unique nature and aesthetics of the Nordic nature will be brought to life musically by Norwegians BORKNAGAR and Finns WOLFHEART. Borknagar haven’t played Brutal for 10 years and have had a huge impact in the development of the Nordic black metal into other directions, while Wolfheart wraps the melodic death metal in rawness, coldness and predation. OMNIUM GATHERUM, personally related with Insomnium, are melodically a more typical Finnish band, but they are not afraid to play faster or add a progressive passages.

Adding another dimension to the Scandinavian quartet’s view of melodics is BE’LAKOR from Australia. With their impressive musical range, this quintet offers music full of emotions, details, arrangements and moods that reveal more and more with each listen.

Keep a close eye on the festival sites, we’ll be adding new bands next week!
