TYKETTO – Strength in Numbers Live

Tyketto is an underrated and to some extent overlooked outfit that just so happened to release the fantastic “Strength in Numbers” record back in those murky and rather dreadful early 90s when nobody basically gave a shit about melodic rock. Fortunately, Tyketto are still out there touring and kicking ass, and it is fucking beautiful to lean back in one’s favorite armchair and immerse oneself in this superb live offering of theirs.
As its title suggests, they perform the aforementioned gem in its entirety along with a handful of other killer cuts, and the result is a most satisfying one. There is atmosphere aplenty here and the band as a whole is right on the money and incredibly tight. Danny’s voice is as marvelous as ever and everyone involved is giving it their all. On top of that, the sound is most definitely good and crunchy. Although “Catch My Fall” and “Rescue Me” are my own two favorite tracks on the disc, perhaps the real treat for most listeners is the inclusion of the rarely heard “Wait Forever”.
“Strength in Numbers Live”, which was recorded in the UK in March this year, is an impressive live LP that ought to thrill fans of Tyketto and lovers of great rock music in general.
