MASTER’S CALL – Morbid Black Trinity

MASTER’S CALL – Morbid Black Trinity

The British black/death metal scumbags known as Master’s Call have conjured up a foul and most sinister 3-track EP appropriately entitled "Morbid Black Trinity" and it reeks of death and darkness. What immediately springs to mind here is how wicked and memorable the riffs are and how well-executed everything is.

The arrangements are great and the musicianship indicates that we are dealing with seasoned veterans who know damn well how to write engaging and intense tunes while sounding sufficiently tight as a musical unit. On top of that, the guitar solos are lethal. In other words, "Morbid Black Trinity" has a lot going for it and this is definitely a cool surprise to yours truly. While certain parts remind me of Behemoth around their "Zos Kia Cultus"-era, others are reminiscent of Reign of Erebus and even Kriegsmaschine, but Master’s Call sound neither like a cheap clone nor a rip-off act by any stretch of the imagination.

These ugly fuckers churn out compelling pieces that are rich on atmosphere and contain sufficient layers and details to warrant repeated listens. Boasted by a warm and bombastic production, this is most definitely a release that you do not want to miss out on if raging and majestic black/death metal appeals to you. I simply cannot stop listening to this vile and apocalyptic EP!
