METAL ALLEGIANCE – Fallen Heroes

METAL ALLEGIANCE – Fallen Heroes

A brief three song EP recorded as a tribute to the loss over the past year of three iconic musicians: Lemmy Kilmeister, David Bowie, and Glenn Frey, Metal Allegiance contains seasoned players across the metal spectrum. Everyone who’s anyone knows the skills of Alex Skolnick on guitar and Mike Portnoy on drums, while Mark Menghi holds down the bass.

Each song has a different vocalist well suited to their particular range and personality. Troy Sanders (Mastadon) handles the rough and tumble angst that is "Iron Fist", while Mark Osegueda (Death Angel) injects all his personality and melodic muster to "Suffragette City". Closing the proceedings is a bit of a surprise, as we get Alissa White-Gluz (Arch Enemy) tackling the Eagles cover "Life in the Fast Lane", giving more of a funky take from Mark’s bottom end work plus clean melodies that prove Alissa is a double-edge threat on the microphone.

A great digital mind-quencher as the band continues to perform when possible on the road. Curious to hear what the follow up full-length will deliver.
