MISTUR – In Memoriam
Its been 7 long years since Misturs brilliant debut "Attende", an album that took its natural place among several great sognametal releases which followed in the wake of the mighty Windir. Come 2016, Mistur reveals a more mature and complex take on the art of metal, while the spirit from the past lives on.
There has already been several great releases this year, but Mistur takes the throne with this incredible epic and melodic masterpiece, packed with highlights and memorable moments. One minute its fast and furious black metal, before the guitar kicks in and reminds you where the band hails from, then it all turns again, and you suddenly find yourselves in a dramatic scene somewhere in Norway, hundreds of years ago. There are also repetative sections throughout the album that are just incredible catchy and addictive, take The Sight, from 8:35 and to the end, I must have listened to that part alone 100 times… The dark vocals are superb, while the clean version adds to the national-romantic feel of the music., add flawless sound and production, Mistur is definitely a force to be reckoned with, and a serious contender to album of the year.
