RE-ARMED – Total Lack of Communication EP

The latest EP from Finnish death/thrash band Re-Armed "Total Lack of Communication" is a quick hitting 3 song affair – just what you want if you’ve been a fan for ages or need a brief look into what this quintet is all about. The title cut opens in a venomous fashion, blasting away as Jouni Matilainen screams for his life, the guitars and rhythm section whirring in tornado oblivion. Showcasing more of a controlled mid-tempo arrangement, The Haunted-oriented "Meant to Be Broken" should align the audience for massive crowd surfing or pit crawls, the keyboards during the second half adding more dynamic tension for the lead break.
Closer "Unhuman" is possibly the most atmospheric, the riffing still jackhammer but the gang vocals during the chorus and more punk-oriented verses proving Re-Armed are not a one trick pony when it comes to their death/thrash template. In a touch under 12 minutes, "Total Lack of Communication" infests itself as a killer death/thrash EP – making us await the third full-length with baited breath.
