C.O.P. – State Of Rock

An acronym for the band members’ first names, Swedish trio C.O.P. consists of keyboardist/ drummer Christian Sundell, guitarist/ bassist Ola Af Trampe, and vocalist Peter Sundell. Many will probably know the Sundells’ work in Grand Illusion – but this debut album showcases even more of their melodic rock/ AOR side through these 10 songs. Vibrant keyboards, stellar guitar leads, and the impeccable vocal hooks, choruses, and harmonies that get you singing along and hitting those high ‘money’ notes make opener "Loner", the uplifting "Nightmare" that seems tailor made for those 80’s Rocky movies, or the gliding bliss of "Broken Heart" irresistible.
Talent plus knowledge equals a brilliant start – add in the proper execution and you have a 10 song blockbuster from another Scandinavian act that rivals the best of The Poodles, H.E.A.T., and Houston – some of the best melodic-oriented AOR/ hard rock going today.
