CATTLE DECAPITATION – The Anthropocene Extinction

CATTLE DECAPITATION – The Anthropocene Extinction

Death metal progressive grind – a swirling whirlwind of guitars, bass, drums, and growls/ screams that doesn’t go off the rails. That’s Cattle Decapitation in a small nutshell – yet "The Anthropocene Extinction" is so much more that pushes their style into the hearts of the underground whether young or old. Guitarist Josh Elmore wears ten hats in terms of his wide array of grind, progressive, technical riff choices – sometimes bringing to mind VoiVod in "Manufactured Extinct" as easily as Dimmu Borgir or Brutal Truth for the follow up "The Prophets of Loss".

Travis Ryan as a vocalist has a weird cackle, possessed by demons, as well as an alternate cleaner element that captivates – the hurricane-oriented "Circo Inhumanitas" and more mid-tempo oriented "Mammals in Babylon" two different spectrums of his multi-layered intelligent word spew. 46 minutes and 12 tracks that further the cause for metal bands to step up their game, for not all death/progressive/grind is mere noise my friends.
