APNEICA – Pulsazioni…conversione

Atmospheric post-metal with a touch of progression and doom is what you’ll get from Italian band Apneica on this 4 song EP. Occasional use of death growls may bring up some Opeth comparisons, but for the most part artists like Neurosis and Isis come to mind in terms of the musical expansiveness, somber riffing, and alluring connection these arrangements possess. Singing in their native tongue, the words appear hypnotic or brutal depending on the nature of the song – the rhythm section filling up sonic space brilliantly on my favorite "In Orbita".

Not necessarily every day listening, yet certainly entertaining enough when I’m in the mood for this style.
