ORANGE GOBLIN – Back From the Abyss

The eighth studio album from London, England’s Orange Goblin, "Back from the Abyss" is another British record that elevates stoner metal because of its classic rock and groove vibe. Channeling the best in Danzig, Thin Lizzy, and Motörhead, songs such as "Sabbath Hex", heavy hitter punk offering "The Devil’s Whip", and monster stoner groover "Bloodzilla" prove the quartet aren’t running dry in the creative well department – or execution.
Between Ben Ward’s sharp personal bite and throaty delivery and his bandmates locked and loaded interplay, I doubt many who are into this style will be disappointed or turning their attention elsewhere while this record is spinning. Crank these 12 songs to 11 (a la Spinal Tap), break out your favorite relaxing beverage and bang away to "Back from the Abyss".
