THE PROPHECY 23 – Untrue Like a Boss

The third album from Germany’s self-proclaimed ‘thrash death party action metal’ band The Prophecy 23, "Untrue Like A Boss" is all about having fun, not taking themselves too seriously, and occasionally injecting outside metal/ hardcore influences into the mix. Be it congas, acoustic guitars, clean vocals, you can’t help but chuckle at titles like "Video Games Ain’t No Shame", "Pablo the Peacemaking Pizza", and "Tape Trading Like a Boss".

Musically and attitude-wise, imagine a meld of skater-core, thrash, and a mix of death growls with normal speedy thrash retorts – and that will give you an idea of what these 14 tracks are like. We get an 8 second tribute to SOD in "The Ballad of SOD", songs in the vein of Municipal Waste like "Pit Laserbeam", and mosh-oriented affairs such as "Action Metal" or the aforementioned "Pablo the Peacemaking Pizza" that prove The Prophecy 23 aim to please with their style in a fun-loving manner.

Sometimes low-brow music works to liven the spirit within. "Untrue like a Boss" will be that record to make you scream, shout, and laugh along.
