WITCH CROSS – Fit For Fight (Re-release)

WITCH CROSS – Fit For Fight (Re-release)

One of the early Danish traditional metal acts, Witch Cross may not have received much attention for this debut album back when it was originally released in 1984 on Roadrunner Records. Now ready for another re-release on Hells Headbangers , this 8 song, 41 minute record should be essential for anyone into early NWOBHM along with the specialness of Mercyful Fate. The lead work of Cole Hamilton and Mike ‘Wlad’ Kock has a lot of Hank Shermann and Michael Denner similarities- the attention to bending those right notes and blending this with melodic parts of flurry. Combined with the early Halford-esque natural high range of Alex ‘Savage’ Nyborg Madsen vocally, songs like "Killer Dogs", "Fight the Fire" and searing opener "Night Flight in Tokyo" are very catchy and endearing to my traditional metal roots growing up as a child of the 1980’s.

Keep metal’s heritage alive- "Fit For Fight" lives up to its name.
