LECHERY – In Fire

The second classic traditional metal record from Sweden’s Lechery careens around high pitched fierce vocals, take charge guitar riffs and twists and a loaded machine gun bass/ drum presence. Former Arch Enemy bassist Martin Bengtsson is the vocalist/guitarist that helms this quartet ship, but for some reason songs like “Mechanical Beast”, “Heart Of A Metal Virgin” and “The Igniter” have this Accept-like German metal meets Judas Priest quality musically but fail to really maintain any distinction as they pass through my ears quite a few times.
The snare drum thwack drives me insane by the third track “Burning Anger”, and even though there’s some encouraging dual lead harmonies from Martin and fellow guitarist Fredrik Nordstrandh, overall “In Fire” put Lechery on ice for me.
