WORLD UNDER BLOOD – Tactical

A slight tweak of the conventional melodic death metal sound with technical flurries on this World Under Blood effort. Singer/guitarist Deron Miller (CKY) and drummer Tim Yeung (Divine Heresy) started the group in 2006, releasing a few songs through their Myspace page over the years – filling out the band with bassist Risha Eryavac and guitarist Luke Jaeger. These 8 songs have a certain Swedish speed meets mid-period Death overtone – although Deron’s clean vocals on tracks like “A God Among The Waste” and “Dead And Still In Pain” are more in the contemporary modern rock/ alternative scope.
Expect exemplary neo-classical solos throughout, and Tim’s pouring his heart out at full throttle and knows when to lay back to keep things simpler on the drum front. At 33 minutes this could have benefited from another track or two, otherwise “Tactical” lives up to it’s battle plan – take no prisoners death metal.
