SEVEN – Freedom Call

Czech four piece Seven have been releasing a series of instrumental and vocal led albums in their native land since the early 2000’s, but “Freedom Call” will be the first big splash for the band on an international scene. Produced by Rage guitarist Victor Smolski, the 12 songs are mid-tempo to faster power metal with a lot of German influence, as songs like “Brain Eater” and “Suicide Fall” have much in common with Brainstorm and Rage as far as riff hooks, traditional vocals and a drummer who can groove as well as throw down some speedy double bass.
Vocalist Lukas Pisarik doesn’t necessarily possess the most powerful range but gets the job done adequately, and I believe overall the band will improve as they get more seasoning and touring under their belt. Approach accordingly.
