TOKYO BLADE – Thousand Men Strong

Another reunion from the UK, Tokyo Blade scoop up legendary producer Chris Tsangarides (Judas Priest, Anvil) for “Thousand Men Strong”. Main guitarists Andy Boulton and John Wiggins keep the traditional twin guitar tower style strong, unleashing a flurry of strong riffs and solos in tracks like “Lunch-Case”, “The Ambush” and the mid-tempo Accept-ish “Heading Down The Road”. New vocalist Nicolaj Ruhnow has the pipes to sing and scream like the best of the British brigade, “Black Abyss” and “Condemned To Fire” showcasing the man’s iron lungs.

There are times when it’s perfectly acceptable for a band to stay within known conventions of their sound – and Tokyo Blade with “Thousand Men Strong” have made such a record. Break out your air guitar, crank this up to ten and revel in early metal glory.
