U.D.O. – Leatherhead EP

A preview of the upcoming “REV-Raptor” album, the first single “Leatherhead” appears from U.D.O. along with the album track “Rock ‘N’ Roll Soldiers”, two non-album exclusives and 2 video clips for the owners of the physical product. “Run” for instance is a ballad with Udo’s soft approach through the bulk of the verses until he turns up the sandpaper screech during the bridge and chorus work. The title track contains a mid-tempo anthem nature and focuses on a down tuned riff while “Rock ‘N’ Roll Soldiers” has that “Balls To The Wall”-like spirit especially in the drumming of Francesco Jovino in his hi-hat counts against the snare and bass drum movement.
Much like Motorhead, U.D.O. aren’t recreating the wheel with their traditional metal style, it’s made for loud crowd interaction and keeps the fires burning in anticipation for the next full length.
