Sharpen the swords and axes. W:O:A Metal Battle heads to the sixth round.

Since the beginning in 2004 W:O:A Metal Battle increased to the biggest talent contest for any type of Metal Bands. Winning bands from Germany, Brasil and this years champion „The Fading“ www.myspace.com/thefadingmetal from Israel proove, that there´s a huge amount of highly talented metal bands worldwide who can easily compete with the already established ones.

The international final will take place at the W.E.T Stage at W:O:A 09 from 31.07 – 02.08

Already the national winning bands can be chuffed about winning material prizes from our partners like artist price endorsement deals, drum kits and more. The international winner will additionally gain a record deal with Wacken Records.

This year we are proud to present new countries taking part. Beneath the 16 already established countries Spain, Ireland and Iceland will go into the battle. USA, Canada and Hungary are in negotiation.

Participation Rules 2009:

– Your band doesn't have a deal and isn't about to sign to a label in the near future.

– Your band can easily play a 30 minute set consisting of your own songs.

– You're not a band that won a heat in 2008.

– Bands, that participated in 2008 but didn't win any of the regional heats may re-apply.

– Please send your application (Demo CD with 3 – 4 songs, photo, band info and contact address) to the address of your National Metal Battle Department. You will find them at www.metal-battle.com
